The Regional Outreach Coordinator performs informational and educational work. Work involves the comprehensive preparation, coordination, and dissemination of child support services and information concerning the functions of the agency, including federal regulations. Encourages public participation in agency programs. The Regional Outreach Coordinator shall report to an OAG and#8211; Child Support Division work location at a Region Seven field office or storefront (Austin, Georgetown, Temple, Waco, Bryan, or Victoria) based on the candidateand#8217;s preference but subject to the needs of the Child Support Division. Regardless of primary duty point, the candidate must collaborate with relevant stakeholders throughout the region, and some travel to and from Austin and other worksites throughout the region for in-person meetings will be necessaryEmployees of the OAG experience the challenge and honor of public service while enjoying a healthy work-life balance; developing hands-on experience; and engaging camaraderie with their colleagues across the state. OAG employees enjoy excellent benefits (https://ers.texas.gov/Benefits-at-a-Glance) along with tremendous opportunities to do important work at a large, dynamic state agency making a positive difference in the lives of Texans.Speaks publicly about child support services, Acknowledgment of Paternity (AOP) issues, and parenting/ paternity responsibilities in presentations to the regionand#8217;s secondary schools, community-based organizations, and certified AOP entitiesMonitors certified entities for compliance with AOP lawConducts state-wide AOP seminarsRecruits volunteers, interns, and employeesTrains internal and external entities on legal issues and procedures pertaining to the execution of an AOPDevelops and maintains relationships with higher learning institutionsConducts interviews and researches various sources to determine intern and volunteer needsFacilitates collaborative informational activities with organizations and entities that work with current or potential child support customers and youthParticipates in conferences to provide information about child support servicesPerforms related work as assignedMaintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functionsAttends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work scheduleEnsures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected informationComplies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity Qualifications: Education: Graduation from high school or equivalentEducation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: full-time Child Support Program, volunteer/intern recruiting, public speaking, adult training, customer service or other outreach activitiesExperience: Three (3) years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: Child Support Program, volunteer/intern recruiting, public speaking, adult training, or other outreach activitiesSkill in using the computer for word-processingSkill in working independentlySkill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlinesSkill in effective oral and written communicationSkill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision makingAbility to receive and respond positively to constructive feedbackAbility to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environmentAbility to provide excellent customer serviceAbility to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travelAbility to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSAAbility to lift and relocate 30 lbs.Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 25%PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience: working with secondary education or higher education students and faculty and community-based organizationsKnowledge: Child Support Program policies and proceduresOther Language: Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak SpanishTo apply for a job with the OAG, electronic applications can be submitted through CAPPS Recruit.
